The HP Designjet 800 printer is the professional and robust printer for workgroups of 3 to 10 people in the fields of architecture, engineering, construction, mechanical design, digital photography and geographical information systems. Complete with a "virtual computer" inside, the printer does all of the processing work and immediately frees up your own computer.

Product overview

Ultimate line and photo quality
•  Ultimate photo quality is achieved using HP color layering and up to 2400-dpi resolution. 1 Ultimate line quality, with lines as thin as 0.002 in. (0.05 mm) and an accuracy of +/- 0.2%, results from the printer's use of miniscule drops and a continuous ink flow. Many more colors are available per printed dot as the printer layers different color ink drops over each other to create new colors.

"Virtual computer" inside
•  Your computer is immediately freed up by a "virtual computer" inside the printer, comprising an embedded HP-GL/2 processor (with drivers for AutoCAD ® and Windows ® ), 96 MB of RAM (expandable up to 160 MB), a 6-GB hard disk and a powerful HP JetDirect EIO 10/100 BaseTX print server (as well as USB and parallel ports). CALS G4 files are also accepted.

Fast and efficient printing
•  The HP Designjet 800 is a robust printer for workgroups of 3 to 10 people and has print times as short as 60 seconds for D-size (A1-size) drawings. It supports queuing and nesting and processes subsequent jobs while printing.

Great media flexibility
•  A wide choice of HP Premium Printing Material is available, including HP Bright White Inkjet Paper, HP Translucent Bond, HP Natural Tracing Paper, HP Vellum, HP Clear Film, HP Matte Film, HP Coated Paper, HP Heavyweight Coated Paper, HP High-Gloss Photo Paper, HP Satin Poster Paper and HP Studio Canvas.

No hassle
•  Drivers are easy to install and intuitive to use, an ink-set change takes less than 1 minute, the control panel is simple to navigate, and media loading is smooth and straightforward.

Unattended printing
•  The printer can work unattended with its off-axis, 69-cc ink cartridges, long-life printheads, 150-ft (45-m) media rolls, automatic cutting, and stacking of finished prints in the media bin [optional on the 24-in. (61-cm) model]. The ink cartridges have almost double the ink capacity of previous HP ink cartridges in this category, and printheads last through five to six ink-cartridge changes on average, depending upon usage.

Consistent colors
•  Consistent colors are achieved every time, regardless of printhead usage, ambient temperature or ink levels, using automatic closed-loop-color calibration.
